• Did you cancel all deliveries, newspapers, etc.?
• Ask a neighbour to keep an eye on your house.
• Leave a key with someone you trust.
• Make sure that you have someone to collect your mail or push it right in if it is an enclosed letter box.
• Do you have some of your lights on a time switch to make it appear from the outside that someone is at home?
• Notify the local police that you are going away and ask them to keep an eye on your premises. You can also let them know who is the key holder in case they need to access the house.
• Make sure you have all electrical items switched off and unplugged.
• Turn off water supply.
